Hominy Creek Greenway Connector

Hominy Creek Greenway Connector
Approximate Length: 0.25 miles

Concept:

A pedestrian walkway proposed by the Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway, Connect Buncombe, and neighbors. This project is community driven and in collaboration with a range of stakeholders. Our goal is to share the concept; seek community support; and propose the project to the City of Asheville. Currently, there is no funding for this project.

Proposed path:

The Hominy Creek Greenway Connector would be a 0.25-mile pedestrian pathway linking Talmadge Street to the Hominy Creek Greenway. Aligned at the edge of City of Asheville property, the connector would provide a pedestrian route through the City’s maintenance facility (formerly the National Guard Armory) to an existing sidewalk on Shelburne Road. The path would cross Shelburne Road and meet the Hominy Creek Greenway trailhead providing safe access for walkers, runners, and neighbors. The proposal would be entirely within City of Asheville property and would not be located on any private property.
